आगे दिखा एक गन्ने वाला,
हाथी का फिर से मन मचला।
पर गन्ना तो निकला सूखा,
और हाथी रह गया फिर भी भूखा!
एक हाथी निकला घर से,
भूख लगी उसे ज़ोर से।
सूंड उठाए, कान हिलाए,
खाना ढूँढे आगे जाए!
निराश हो गया भूखा हाथी,
चला वापस घर की ओर।
जैसे ही दरवाज़ा खोला,
सारे दोस्त मचाए शोर!

सारा कमरा गूँज उठा।
इतना सारा खाना देख के,
